I've only seen the trailer, and this is what I though:
Animation: Good, no complaints
Art: Good, no complaints
Source Material: The main problem. Bowser and Peach's voices are the only ones accurate to the original characters, and Peach's voice still feels like it needs some work. To me, the other voices (Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Toad) sound nothing like the original characters, which feels like a big buzzkill itself, but then it's ruined more when other scenes don't look right. The Mario Kart race, fight with Donkey Kong, and the mushroom kingdom almost look like what I expected, but feels empty still
Soundtrack: Another source material problem. They were aware of the soundtrack of the Super Mario franchise, but hardly cared about it. They mimic the most memorable parts of songs, and then throw in their generic music and sound effects for 99.9% of the movie
That's about it, and based on the trailer, I'm not all that interested in it. Overall? 3/10, case closed and no regrets
